Housing Ministry: Hon. Archibong tours project sites, facilities
The Commissioner for Housing, Rt. Hon. Henry Archibong has embarked on an inspection tour of all Housing project sites and facilities across the State, which are supervised and monitored by his Ministry.
Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Barr. Uduak Eyo-Nsa and other Directors, on Monday, March 10, Rt. Hon. Archibong disclosed that the tour became necessary to identify and ascertain the state of the projects, in order to achieve the housing goals of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda.
Acknowledging that it was expedient to inspect government housing projects and facilities, after studying the handing over notes he received upon his assumption of office, the Commissioner noted that the initiative, will enable him to chart a way forward for the blueprint.
At Idu- Uruan Mass Housing Estate, Uruan; the Grace Estate at Ibiono/Ikono Local Government Areas, ARISE City, at Mbierebe Akpawat, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area and the on-going construction of the Aviation Village, at the Victor Attah International Airport, Archibong appreciated Governor Umo Eno for investing in housing, maintaining that accommodation was a necessity, as one of man’s basic needs.
Noting the importance of comfortable shelter during a stop over at the Grace Estate, the Housing helmsman added that the estate would be upgraded with support facilities like Schools, Police Post, recreational centre, internal roads, water and electricity, in order to serve the residents better.
Inspecting the on-going construction of the Aviation Village, the Commissioner charged the constructing firm to redouble effort in completing the project in line with specifications and timelines.
