Nkom Receives Yoruba Community, Calls For Peace, Cooperation
In his avowed commitment towards providing and ensuring peaceful relationships among citizens and residents of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, the Council Chairman Hon. Aniefiok Nkom has called for collaboration with the Yoruba Community.
Hon. Nkom who expressed his eagerness to ensure that the lives, properties and businesses are secured, also said, growth can only thrive in a peaceful environment.
The council chairman stated this on Friday, February 28, in his office while hosting the Executive members of the Yoruba Community, Ikot Ekpene Chapter.
The council helmsman, while appreciating the support and contributions of the Yoruba Community during his election, promised to positively provide ambience that will enhance businesses in the area.
Expressing his readiness to support developmental ideas that will bring added value to the local government and the community, Hon. Nkom said, he was open for contributory ideas and tasked them on maintaining peace-loving relationship.
He pledged to collaborate with the Yoruba Community by ensuring there is a synergy between the Council and Community in various programme they are set to embarked on.
Congratulating Hon Nkom on his victory at the election, the President of Yoruba Community, Ikot Ekpene, Alhaji Kayode Oyekunle, also commended the Chairman on his administration’s stride and performance just few months since his assumption in office, particularly, in area of youth empowerment, infrastructural development, maintenance of healthy environment as well as ensuring peace and security in the area.
Intimating the Chairman of their Community Initiative Programme which he said would kick-start soon, Alhaji Oyekunle revealed plans to embark on green environment programmes, provide educational support to students, involve in human capacity development through skill acquisition for youths in the area and many more.
He pledged unalloyed support and collaboration to the Hon. Nkom’s administration and prayed for God’s wisdom upon him.
