Elder Essien Reiterates Govt Commitment To Professionalism

The Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien has reiterated the State Government’s commitment to professionalism for effective service delivery.

Elder Essien, gave the assertion while receiving a delegation from the State Branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), led by the branch chairperson, Dr. Rosalyn Essien, in his office on Thursday, March 13.

According to the Head of Civil Service, the commitment placed by the Governor, has been predicated on the importance of highly-skilled, efficient and future-ready workforce that would sustain the development metrics of the governor’s administration.

Elder Essien emphasised the need for public servants to sharpen their proficiencies for effective interpretation and implementation of the policy trust of the ARISE Agenda of Pastor Umo Eno.

Appreciating the leadership of the State branch of the Institute for keeping to its ideals, the Head of Service posited that, it had contributed to winning the hosting right of National conference in the State.

While promising the CIPM delegation of the support of his office, Elder Essien, called for a thorough procedure of inducting new members, as obtained in other prestigious professional Institutes, adding that it will bring the needed credibility to the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.

Earlier in her speech, the Akwa Ibom State branch Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Dr. Rosalyn Essien outlined activities billed for the 2025 Conference, which according to her, will feature training of intended persons and provide a historic large-scale induction of new members.

While appreciating Elder Essien for granting them audience, she revealed that the conference, themed, “Navigating New Frontiers of HR”, with a sub-theme, “Feature Frontier in Government HR”, “The Work, The Worker, and The Workplace”, will hold on Saturday, April 15, at Ibom Hall, Uyo.
