GOV ENO’S DEFECTION WILL ENHANCE A WIDER PARTICIPATION OF A’IBOM PEOPLE IN ARISE AGENDA -SSA BRAND MGT.

‎The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on Brand Management and Marketing, Mr Raphael Edem, has stated that the defection of the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), will enhance a wider participation of Akwa Ibom people in the ARISE Agenda.

‎Mr Edem, who stated this, Monday, June 23, as a guest on ADBN TV, noted that the recent defection of Governor Umo will give the state more advantage in the political and economic participation in the country, adding that it will translate to more development for Akwa Ibom and the people.
‎
‎”The Governor has repeatedly said that his movement to the APC is primarily in the enlightened state interest which takes into consideration the common interest of the people. It is a political movement; it has not changed who he is. It has not changed the ARISE Agenda.
‎
‎”If there is anything, this is going to expand the scope of the ARISE Agenda because we are going we are going to have a wider vista of participation in the political and economic processes in the country which will ultimately have positive implications for the people of the State as far as democratic dividends are concerned.
‎
‎”We are hoping that this particular movement will lead federal attention, more life-touching projects; more efforts that will bring solutions to some of the challenges that we have been facing as a people,” he said.
‎
‎The SSA further noted that the defection was only a move from one political platform to another and not a move from the values that the governor and the administration holds, or a move from the things that the people are expecting from the government, assuring that change of political party will not change who the governor is.
‎
‎”The governor has been very well heralded as one of the most compassionate leaders in the country and this is something he shows every single day. Changing a political platform will not change that part of him. So he will keep on responding to the needs of the people as well providing the kind of leadership that the people need.
‎
‎”Now that we are linked to the federal government, we expect that whatever His Excellency is able to do, he will get the necessary support to enable him do more so the ARISE Agenda will be able to touch more people.

‎Mr Edem assured that the defection will not hamper the chances of development in the State but will rather help to move the development trajectory further, urging Akwa Ibom people to continue in their support for the governor and the administration.
